Details of level1

This semester we learn Pinyin, which is currently the most commonly used Romanization system for Standard Mandarin. Students will receive specific training on how to pronounce how to spell, and how to read pinyin, among many other learning tasks. In the end of the semester, students are expected to be able to use pinyin to speak Chinese.

In addition to learn the language, cultural points such as greeting and slang expressions will be introduced and discussed. Students will have opportunities to experience Chinese language and culture in a meaningful way.
